Selling at AuctionOur Charges Commission 16% of the hammer price on each lot up to and including £2,000 and 11% on the balance thereafter in all sales. A minimum of £10 per lot is charged on all lots sold. All items are insured whilst on the premises subject to our Standard Terms and Conditions of Sale. All commission/charges are subject to VAT at the standard rate.
Withdrawal Fee The fee for withdrawing items prior to the sale is 16% or £10 whichever is the greater of the lower auction estimate or reserve if higher.
Unsold items In the event a lot does not sell, it can usually be re-offered in a future sale. As a rule all re-offered lots will be at half the original estimate, any unsold lots which are not re-offered must be collected within 10 days of the auction or a charge of £5 per lot per day will be charged for storage. Any unsold lots that are not re-offered or collected after 14 days will be released to a charity of our choosing.
Illustration These will be charged up to £50.00 for a black and white photograph, up to £100.00 for a colour photograph. Images are displayed in the catalogue and on our and other websites
Haulage Our haulage company can collect items for auction from anywhere in the British Isles. The charge for this is £50 per hour chargeable from the time they arrive at the property to the time they get back to the saleroom and unload.
